Ingrid Erika Faglie

Ingrid Faglie, 79, of Belton, TX, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. She went peacefully with her husband of 52 years by her side.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Her body was cremated.

She was born Ingrid Erika Wolf on July 15, 1942, the youngest of three. She was preceded in death by her brother Klaus (1996) and sister Ursula (2004). Born and raised in Mannheim, Germany to Johan and Irmgard Wolf, she lived there until she immigrated to the US in 1963. She ultimately settled in Belton, TX, when in May 1969 she married Lonnie Faglie. 

Words can't describe her strength and perseverance. She came to the US, with two kids, and taught herself English. She was an accomplished athlete, specializing in gymnastics & swimming. She also loved to bowl and over the years was in many area leagues. She passed along her athletics talents to all her children; and she was always there for them, never missing any of their events, sporting or otherwise. Ingrid was also an incredible cook. She brought her German-food specialties with her and weekly served up dishes that made everyone feel like they were sitting down to dinner in Mannheim. She made certain to pass along her recipes as all the children specialize in more than one of them. She also loved to dance and passed that passion on to her children as well. As a matter of fact, country&western dancing in Temple was where she met Lonnie in the fall of 1968.

Her legacy is her children, and her children's children. She had a profound effect on many people.

She is survived by a loving husband, Lonnie Faglie and four children: son Thomas & daughter Alexandra; Janie & daughter Falon; Marie & son Ryan; Michael (Gema) & children Alex, Emily, & Ethan. (and three great grandchildren; Faith, Cooper, & Kalli)
