Hulen Joseph Girndt, 89, of Temple passed away Wednesday, December 18,2013 at a Temple hospital. An inurnment will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the VFW Post 1820 in Temple with Bud Johnson and Bill Cook officiating. Hulen Joseph Girndt was born April 24, 1924 to Wilbur and Leona Girndt in Cyclone, TX. He served in the U.S.Navy and was a foreman most of his life and retired from Mobile Oil Company. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his friends at the VFW. He is survived by his four sons, Allen Girndt, Lynn Girndt, Craig Girndt all of Houston, and Dale Girndt of Austin; two daughters, Phyllis Girndt, and Sheila Girndt both of Houston;three sisters, Laverne Hoelscher of Temple, Corene Woods of Mustang, OK, and Lera Mae Matous of Rockdale, TX; seventeen grandchildren ,four great grandchildren, and his life long friend, Harold Berndt of Temple.
