Henry Fitzgerald Sr. 78, died on 12/5/2015 in Killeen, TX at his home with family singing his favorite songs and church hymns. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Southside Church of Christ from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. also at the Southside Church of Christ located at 1505 Trimmier Road in Killeen. Henry was born to Curtis and Lura Fitzgerald on November 7th 1937. On August 24th, 1956 Henry married the love of his life Bertha Fitzgerald. Henry was a devoted husband to his wife, he would spend all of his time the last year at the nursing home singing and loving on her before her passing this September. Henry worked for BA McCowan for 13 years, following 10 years for Young Brothers Construction. Till finally opening his own Construction company SFW. He spent his final days working for Beckreit and Sons as an estimator. One thing to know about Henry is he always worked hard to provide for the ones he loved. Henry is survived by his three children, Naomi Green, Henry Clay Jr, and Kay Connell of Killeen, Tx. He was the best Papaw, survived by his four grandchildren; Chris Dodge (Krystle) of Kempner, TX, Paul Green (Lupe) of Plainview, TX, Faith Glenn (Tim) of Richland WA, and Misty Bennett (Cody) of Killeen, TX. He is also survived and loved by 10.5 great grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, his daughter Edna Renee', and 9 siblings. He will be remembered by those who love him for his love of country music, playing with the Leon Valley Bluegrass band, his love for the Lord; serving as a church elder for over 30 years and his love and devotion to his wife. Henry loved spending time with his family playing music, such as his favorite, Choices by George Gones. He wrote numerous songs that he loved to play and sing especially his most recent song written to his late wife on their 59th wedding anniversary. There is so much to say about the Man and Legend of Henry Fitzgerald but if you know Henry, then you know he heart couldn't take being without his darling and so, He stopped loving her today...
