Guadalupe “Wally” Gonzales Ortiz, 62, of Belton passed away on August 31, 2021, at a local hospital from complications from the Covid- 19 virus.
A visitation for Wally will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday September 10, 2021, at New Jerusalem church in Belton. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.
The family welcomes all who would like to pay their respects, due to the current pandemic, we ask that you wear a mask and social distance. Wally was one of nine children born to Alberto and Candelaria Ortiz. He was born on February 24, 1959, in Refugio. Wally worked in construction, but his true calling was ministry. He was a member and minister at the New Jerusalem Church in Belton. Wally was a very devoted man who loved to share his love for God. He was known for playing his guitar and there weren't many occasions you didn't see him without it. He was patient, loving, and a great teacher. He loved his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by his whole family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Candelaria Ortiz, and his Grandson, Daniel Ortiz.
Wally is survived by his loving wife, Linda Ortiz of Belton; his two sons, Manuel Ortiz of Austin and Guadalupe Jr. of Tennessee County; his daughter, Saralisa Hebert of Pflugerville; his three brothers, Bartoldo Ortiz of Temple, Juan Ortiz of Jarrell, and Albert Ortiz of Belton, Jerry Sanchez of McGregor; his seven sisters, Sandra Guana of Belton, Adelaida Castillo of Beeville, Cristela Meade of Tucson, Arizona, Maria Paiz of El Paso, Angie Ortiz of Belton, Janie Hernandez of Belton, Susie Rangel of Moody ; and his five grandchildren, Kallie Lynae Hebert, Moses Alexander Ortiz, Carlos Abram Ortiz, Lenora Ann Rose Hebert, and Victoria Sophia-Marie Ortiz.
Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
