Gregory Wood

Gregory Dale Wood, a loving son, brother, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023, in Temple, Texas.

Graveside service will be 1 PM Thursday, June 8, 2023 at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Born on July 30, 1948, in Malone, New York, Gregory was the cherished son of the late Herbert and Nettie (Chapman) Wood.

From a young age, Gregory displayed the qualities that would define him throughout his life: loving, friendly, and kind. His compassion and generosity would continue to guide him as he embarked on a life of service and dedication.

After graduating from high school, Gregory enlisted in the United States Army, where he served with distinction for many years. During his time in the military, he took on various roles, including military police and mechanic. In 1985, Gregory retired as a Staff Sergeant, throughout his military career, Gregory received numerous decorations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.

Gregory is survived by his loving family and a host of friends who will cherish his memory for years to come. As we mourn the loss of Gregory Dale Wood may his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
