Glen Edward Guthrie, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023, in Temple, Texas. Born on October 26, 1947 to Raymond and Ivie Snow Guthrie in Post, Texas.
Glen was drafted by the U.S. Army and served his country from 1967-1969. After his service, Glen went on to work as a skilled carpenter and mechanic. In his spare time, Glen enjoyed tending to his garden, listening to classic country music, and picking his guitar with his nephews. He had a deep love for his family and cherished every moment spent with them.
He is survived by six brothers, Alvin Guthrie and his wife, Deborah, Kenneth Guthrie and his wife, Nettie, and Richard Guthrie, all of Belton, Roy Guthrie and his wife, Lenora of Pendleton, Dan Guthrie, Rodney Guthrie and his wife, Maryann all of Morgan's Point; as well as one sister, Debbie Teeter and her husband, Thomas of Temple. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Glen was preceded in death by his companion and love of his life Donna Willis, his parents, Raymond Franklin Guthrie and Ivie Jewell Snow Guthrie, three brothers, Wayne, David and Ronald Guthrie, three sisters, Vickie Guthrie, Doris Weatherford and Barbara Brooks.
Funeral services for Glen will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton with his visitation held two hours prior to services from 12:00P.M. to 2:00P.M. His burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.
