Gilberto Castorena

Gilberto Castorena, 89 of Nolanville passed away on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at his residence. Private family services will be held at a later date. Gilberto Castorena was born on August 7, 1927 in Mexico to Jose Eliseo Castorena and Dolores Martinez. He was a farm laborer most of his life. He loved to travel. Gilberto loved to sing and dance while playing the harmonica and the accordion. He always wore his hat and boots. Spending time with family and friends was very special to him. He was a member of a church in Eloy, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his life-long companion of 35 years, Betty Federico. Survivors are three sons, Jesus Adan Castorena of Iowa , Gilberto Castorena Jr. of Minnesota and Jose Eliseo Castorena of Arizona; five daughters, Maria Olivia Rivera of Fort Worth, Juana Adela Castorena of Yoakum, TX. Margaret Castorena of Arizona, Cecilia D. Dennard of Nolanville and Laura Castorena of Arizona; one brother Jesus Castorena of Goree, TX.; two sisters, Cecilia Flores of Haskell, Tx. and Veronica Castorena of Quemado, TX.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
