Garlan Dale Rodgers, 82, of Temple passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at a Temple Hospital. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. A Church Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale with Pastor Greg Spears officiating. A burial will be held at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington. Garlan Dale Rodgers was born December 9, 1930 to Harry Rodger and Bessie (Shaver) Rodgers in Lexington. He married Beverly Louise (Sheldon) Rodgers on May 2, 1980 in Ratibor. He was in the construction business most of his life. He enjoyed taking trips, working in the yard, fishing, and spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Beverly Louise Rodgers of Temple; two sons, Jason Rodgers of Converse, and Roger Dale Rodgers of Odessa; two daughters, Denise Van Cleave of Odessa and Wendy Vincent of Houston; three brothers Darrell Rodgers of Bryan, Bobby Rodgers of Lexington, and Jacky Rodgers of Orange; two sisters, Kay Revia of Lufkin and Diane Tutt of Robinson; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Milam County Cowboy Church or to the Lexington Cemetery. Arrangements are in trusted to Crotty Funeral Home of Belton.
