Fortunata Cunanan

December 7, 1939 — December 27, 2023

Fortunata Cunanan, age 84 of killeen, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 27, 2023, in Killeen. Born on December 7, 1939, in the Philippines to Lucas Dalusung and Apolonia Timbol, she touched the lives of those around her with her remarkable love and devotion to her family.

Fortunata was a woman of many talents and passions. While she took her job as a stay-at-home mother seriously, her greatest joy came from nurturing and caring for her children. Her proudest accomplishments were her children themselves - individuals who flourish today thanks to the unconditional love and support she provided.

Aside from being a dedicated mother, Fortunata had a deep faith that guided her life. She was an incredibly religious person who found solace in attending church regularly and helping out whenever she could. Prayer played a significant role in her life as well - it connected her to a higher power while serving as a source of strength during both joyful and challenging times.

One would often find Fortunata in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Cooking brought her immense joy as it allowed her to express her creativity while ensuring that generations of family members were nourished and satisfied. Her culinary skills were unmatched, leaving everyone craving for more of her traditional Filipino dishes.

In addition to cooking, Fortunata stayed busy by involving herself in various church activities. Whether it was volunteering or supporting different religious organizations financially, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to helping others. She strongly believed in giving back to the community and making a positive impact wherever possible.

Above all else, family meant everything to Fortunata. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - showering them with affection and wisdom accumulated over the years. Those who were fortunate enough to know Fortunata will always remember her loving nature, unwavering dedication, and the special sparkle in her eyes when surrounded by her beloved family.

Fortunata is preceded in death by her parents, Lucas Dalusung and Apolonia Timbol, as well as by her son, Alfredo Cunanan. She leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of many. She is survived by her husband, Castor Cunanan of Killeen; sons, Noel Cunanan and Alexander Cunanan of Fiji; daughters, Lydia Cunanan Doctor of Las Piñas, Philippines; Maria Theresa Cunanan of Killeen; and Sonia Cunanan of Conway, AR; fourteen cherished grandchildren and thirteen adored great-grandchildren.
