Flora Louise Hardin

Flora “Louise” Hardin, 86, of Harker Heights passed away on Sunday. January 9, 2022, at a local nursing home.

A private family burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Kempner Cemetery.

Louise was born on July 16, 1935, to Alex and Frankie Schnitzler. She was the oldest of their six daughters. She graduated high school and married Charles Hardin. Together they had four children. Louise was a talented seamstress and used to make the children most of their clothes. She worked in administration at Ft. Hood Military Base for several years. Louise enjoyed arts, crafting, making dolls, reading, and raising her children. Her family will miss her calls and her son will miss cooking dinners for her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles E. Hardin, her son, John Hardin, and her two sisters.

Louise is survived by her sons, Charles Hardin of Salado and James Hardin of Lexington, KY; her daughter, Joyce Thomas of Gatesville, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
