Farley Darbasie

July 15, 1951 — August 11, 2024

Farley Darbasie, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, at the age of 73 in Temple, Texas. Born on July 15, 1951, in Trinidad, Farley embraced life with a spirit that will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Farley dedicated 22 years of his life to serving proudly the U.S. Army, where he not only honed his leadership skills but also developed a deep appreciation for history and the arts. After retiring from the military, he transitioned into a new chapter as a tax preparer, a role in which he continued to serve his community with diligence and care. His commitment to helping others was evident in every endeavor he pursued.

Beyond his professional achievements, Farley's passions extended into the realms of art, history, and chess. His love for chess reflected his strategic mind, always seeking out the next move both on the board and in life, teaching others the beauty of patience and foresight.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Jenee Steadman, who stood by him through thick and thin, as well as his daughter, Danielle Darbasie, whose vibrant spirit he nurtured with love and guidance. Farley's close bond with his mother, Cynthia Darbasie, his sister, Dianne Darbasie, and brother, Curtis Darbasie, was a source of strength and support throughout his life, and they will all remember his kindness and humor fondly.

Farley also leaves behind the memory of his late father, Daniel Darbasie, who preceded him in death. The legacy of love and resilience that Farley embodied will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Farley's family would like to extend a special thank you to Baylor Scott & White ICU and the Continuing Care Staff for their compassionate care.

A memorial service for Farley will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fisher House in San Antonio to support military members, veterans, and their families.

Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
