Esterlina "Nina" Ramirez, known for her laugh and unwavering support when others needed her most, passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 66. Born on April 3, 1957, in Belton, Nina was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched many lives through her spiritual nature and caring demeanor.
A memorial service honoring Nina's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 2204 Sunny Ln, in Killeen with Brother Ollie Cole Officiating.
Nina's nickname, "Nina," reflected her warm and loving personality. She was often described as spiritual, selfless, and caring—the epitome of kindness. Nina's proudest accomplishment was her deep love for Jehovah God. On September 7, 1992, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and became an integral member of the Saegert Ranch Congregation.
With an infectious laughter that could brighten any room, Nina had an innate ability to bring joy to those around her. Her hobbies included reading, solving puzzles, and making people laugh. But above all else, she cherished her family. Nina's heart belonged to her husband of 32 years, Jose L Ramirez of Killeen. Together they built a life filled with love and shared countless memories.
Nina was a devoted mother to her four sons: Joseph (Luz) Garza of Yakima, WA; Daniel Garza of Marble Falls; Jimmy (Brenda) Garza of Marble Falls; and Anthony Garza of Austin. She watched with pride as they grew into compassionate and loving individuals. Her nine cherished grandchildren—Jasmine (Marco) Macias, Damien Garza, Alizea Garza, Jordan Ostrander, Ryan Solano, Camily Solano, Jaedon Garza, Logan Solano, Jimmy Lucas, and Julian on the way—will always remember their beloved "Abuela Nina" as a source of unconditional love and support.
Nina is preceded in death by her father, Julian E. Paredes, and her brother, Robert Paredes. Her mother, Margaret Paredes of Killeen, continues to be a pillar of strength for the family during this difficult time.
She is also survived by her two brothers, David (Rose) Paredes and Sam (Manuela) Paredes, both of Killeen; her five sisters, Doris (Javier) Rodriguez of Romeoville, IL; Julie Paredes of Killeen; Taffy (Vincent) Becerra of Kyle; Janet Bocanegra of Killeen; and Joann Paredes of Killeen. Nina's extended family includes nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and over eight million friends worldwide.
Nina touched the lives of many with her kind heart and unwavering faith. She left behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we bid farewell to Nina Ramirez in this physical realm, let us celebrate the beautiful memories she created and carry her spirit within us forever.
