David Leroy Thomas

David Leroy Thomas, age 52, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 after fighting a long illness in a local hospital. A memorial service at 4P.M. on Saturday May 25that the Abundant Life Church of Temple with Pastor Robert Carter officiating.His body was cremated. David was born on December 17, 1966 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to Arville and Helen Ruth Thomas. He graduated from Holland High School in 1985. He managed Guy's Truck Stop in Jarrell, Texas. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and playing video games, but most of all, he spent his time with his friends and family. David also enjoyed going to Abundant Life Church in Temple. David is preceded in death by his mother Helen Ruth Thomas, his father Arville Thomas, and his girlfriend of six years, Alyssa Wilson. David is survived by his son Travis Lee Thomas; his sisters Diana Jones and husband Frank Jones, Debbie Brophy and husband Jack Brophy, and Delories Hopper and husband Charles Hopper; his nieces and nephews including Tara and Nathan Cotten, Marie Brophy, Kimberly Rossi, John and Kimmie Brophy, Garry Wayne Sanford and Linda Bilbrey, and Matthew David Hopper; and his many great nieces and nephews.
