Daniel Reel

April 5, 1966 — June 20, 2023

Belton, Texas

Daniel Michael Reel, 57, of Belton formerly of Georgetown passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023, at his residence in Belton, Texas.

Memorial service for Daniel will be 2 PM Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Crotty Funeral Home and Cremation Services with H.K. Ballard officiating.

Born on April 5, 1966, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Daniel was the loving son of the late John J. and Angela J. (Watson) Reel. He was a devoted husband, father, Papaw, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

In 1989, Daniel bravely served his country by joining the United States Army, where he continued to serve until 1998. After his time in the military, Daniel settled down in Georgetown, Texas, where he married the love of his life, Rhonda Laughland, on July 31, 1993. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising their son Coby and twin daughters Casady and Casely.

Daniel's strong work ethic led him to a successful career at Home Depot from 2001 to 2015. He later transitioned to working at Texas Curb Cutting and Coring.

Daniel was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Texas Longhorns, and all Boston sports teams. He enjoyed spending weekends barbecuing with friends and family, cheering on his favorite teams, and sharing his love for sports with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, Daniel also found joy in going on Goodwill hunts, always on the hunt for a good clothing find.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Reel; his son, Coby Laughland of Georgetown; twin daughters, Casady Martinik and husband Joshua of Killeen, and Casely Townsend and husband Jesse of Ft. Hood; three brothers, Billy Reel and Johnny Reel, both of Weymouth, MA, and Scott Laughland and wife Khristie of Salado; three sisters, Lorraine Tucker of Attleboro, MA, Janet Odean and husband Chris of Hatboro, PA, and Sheri Adair and husband Toby of Thorndale; four grandchildren, Isaiah, Brecken, Cannon, and Crew; and father-in-law, Jerry Laughland and wife Beverly of Georgetown.

Daniel's sense of humor and infectious laugh will live on through his family and friends, who will cherish the time they spent with him and the impact he had on their lives.
