Charlie Joe Parks of Burnet, was called peacefully home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Central Texas Veterans Hospital in Temple. He was born in Mountain Home on May 30, 1949.
He served in the U.S. Army from February 20,1969 until February 19,1971. He was proud of his service to his country in Vietnam. Mr. Parks enjoyed cars and owned an automobile repair shop business in Houston and Buchanan Dam for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, music, and playing card games with his beloved family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Neld Parks, Sister Vivian Donaldson, and two brothers, Luther Parks and Alan Parks. Also, a step grandson Matthew Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly Burns Parks of Burnet; his stepchildren, Joseph Taylor Jr. from Conroe, Christine Hagen of Belton, and Jason Taylor of Cypress; his siblings, Roy Parks from Kerrville, Henry Parks of Ingram, Beverly Cornehl of Fredericksburg, Ann Lowery of Kerrville, Gloria Snyder from Warren, Ohio, Bobby Parks from Mt. Home, and Orville Parks of New Braunfels ;thirteen step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services for Charlie will be held on Wednesday, April 2 ,2025 at 11:00 am at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton with a light lunch and refreshments to follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Then we will proceed by police escort to his graveside service with military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
