Charlie attended Belton High School, after which he honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Upon returning to civilian life, Charlie embarked on a remarkable 60-year career in concrete construction. His hard work, expertise, and integrity in the field left a lasting impact on the industry and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Family was an important part of Charlie's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Marty McQueen, and their blended family, which was a source of great joy and pride for him. His legacy continues through his children, Matt McQueen and wife Kristen, Dan McQueen and wife Michelle, and daughter Holly Ann Puckett and husband Steven; Step daughters Kathy Hilliard and husband Joe, Shauna Herzog and partner Orlando, and Cindy Rodriguez and husband Roy, and his brother Glenn Green. Charlie's 22 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren will forever cherish the memories and lessons shared by their Poppy.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and six sisters, who welcomed him into eternal rest with his Lord Jesus Christ.
Charlie greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies over the years. He found joy in the thrill of watching rodeo, celebrating February birthdays with those he shared the month with, and telling captivating stories about the old days. Sundays were reserved for watching Dr. Charles and spending time in God's Word, a time that brought him peace and reflection. He enjoyed mowing, cutting firewood, filling his deer feeders, and picking up pecans in the yard.
Charlie was generous to those he cared for and his spirited nature was balanced by a loving heart for his friends and family. His presence was a comfort, and his ability to light up a room with laughter will be missed by many.
Charlie spent the last few years of his life dedicated to studying God's Word, learning about the life of Jesus, and sharing about the love of God to everyone. One of his favorite sayings was, "Jesus is coming back, you better be ready."
As we reflect on Charlie's life, his stories will continue to be told, his laughter will echo in our hearts, and his legacy will live on through his beautiful family and the community he helped build. Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
