Charles Franklin Londrie March 14, 1939-October 10, 2016 Charles (Chuck) Franklin Londrie, 77, died in a Temple hospital on Monday October 10, 2016 due to complications related to Pneumonia. A memorial will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, TX on Friday October 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Michael Gnanaraj officiating with a final place of rest on the bay of South Padre Island, TX. Mr. Londrie was born March 14, 1939 in Fountain Green Township, Illinois to Harlan F. Londrie and Nellie (Carle). Charles attended school in Fountain Green and joined the United States Navy serving on the USNAS in Corpus Christi, Texas. For the majority of Charles's life he served in Law Enforcement with the Cameron County Sheriff's Office and Port Isabel Police Department. He received numerous awards and accomplishments with a role in DEA and served as Chief of Police in Port Isabel before retiring in 1995. Aside from Charles's extensive career in Law Enforcement, he pursued other endeavors and businesses such as Rio Trucking (Brownsville, TX), Iredell Café (Iredell, TX) and CJ-L Boer Goat Farm (Meridian, TX). Mr. Londrie was very passionate about various hobbies in his life including bull-riding, horse racing, and showing walker hounds. Charles was President of the Brownsville, TX Chapter of the Gypsy Motor Cycle Club. Charles played guitar in the Cedar Valley Band (CTX), and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3444 in Temple, TX. In his last years, Charles enjoyed caring for his grandchildren and playing bingo at the local American Legion with his loving wife of 44 years, Jean. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Velda Dickerson (Cartage, Il) and Jo Ann Londrie (Port Isabel, TX). Mr. Londrie is survived by his wife Jean of Temple, aunt Velma Welch of Tennessee, Il, sisters Patsy Deming (Quincy, Il), and Mary Ellen Londrie (San Antonio, TX), Brothers Vic Londrie & wife Mary (Wytherville, VA), Harley Londrie and wife Linda (South Padre Island, TX) and Harlan (JR) and wife Stephanie (San Antonio, TX). He was also survived by sons, Carlos Londrie (La Feria, TX), John Wayne Londrie and wife Emily (Rogers, TX), John Charles Londrie (Joliet, Il), Chuckie Londrie (Carthage, Il), Daughters Crystal Londrie (Perris, CA), Vicky Pointer (Macomb, Il), Linda Londrie (Killeen, TX), Charlene Laxson and husband Allen (Temple, TX), Ashley Ellgass and husband Scott (Belton, TX). Charles also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews to whom he loved dearly. Crotty Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Charles Londrie's name to the Peace Officers Memorial Foundation at pomf.org.
