Charles Robert Johnson

Charles "Bob" Robert Johnson, 90, of Temple passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Charles Robert Johnson was born November 8, 1924 to Robert and Gladys Johnson in Paragould, AR. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and in the U.S Air Force Reserves from 1947 to 1962. Charles graduated with a BSBA from the University of Tennessee and Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He married Maxine Holdar in Somerville, TN in 1971. Charles attended Canyon Creek Baptist Church and was very committed to sharing his love of God with others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Johnson Charles is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Maxine Johnson of Temple; one son, Charles L. Johnson and wife, Vicki, of Woodbridge, VA.; one sister, Jeanne Coleman of Russellville, KY ;along with many nieces, nephews and many brothers and sisters in laws, whom he loved dearly. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hillsdale College and Samaritan Purse or The Children's Building Fund at Canyon Creek Baptist Church of Temple.
