Carolyn Arthur Swan, 83, of Temple passed away on Monday April 13, 2015 surrounded by family and friends on Monday April 13, 2015 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday April 17, 2015 at First Baptist Church Moffat 13929 Moffat Rd. Temple, TX. 76502 with Pastor Carl Love officiating. Carolyn Arthur Swan was born on July 17, 1931 in Belton, TX to Herbert and Gladys (Hemphill) Arthur. Carolyn graduated from Troy High School in 1948, and Draughon's College with a Bachelor's Degree in 1950. She married Robert (Toodie) Swan on December 23, 1954 in Temple, TX, and he preceded her in death on October 25, 2005. Carolyn worked most of her life as an executive secretary until her retirement in 1978. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the Moffat Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and she was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her loving daughter, Stacey Leigh Swan of Temple; two brothers, H.C. Arthur Jr. and wife, Virginia and Bill Arthur and wife, Pearl all of Troy; her caretaker and friend, Janice Jacob of Belton and her beloved pet, Gussie. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Toodie) Swan; her son, Scott K. Swan in 1996; one sister, Dolly L. Burns in 2007. In lieu of flowers memorials in honor of Carolyn Swan may be made to Bluebonnet Hospice at 2020 N. Valley Mills Dr. Waco, TX 76710.
