Carl Dewain Russell

Carl Dewain Russell, 84, of Temple passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at a Temple nursing home. Private family services will be held at a later date. His body was cremated. Carl Dewain Russell was born on September 22, 1930 in Eldon, Missouri to Carl and Bernice Allen Russell. He joined the military I 1948 serving in the U.S. Army and Air Force until 1955. He worked in various Law Enforcement Agencies in Missouri and Private Security Companies in Texas until his retirement in 2005. He married Betty Russell on December 26, 1986 and she preceded him in death in November of 2012. Some of his hobbies were collecting antiques and ancient books. Survivors are one son, Steve Russell and wife Lisa of Temple; three grandchildren, Justin Russell of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jason Russell of Owensboro, Kentucky and Casey Eastburn of St. Louis Missouri and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and infant son, Joseph Riley Russell in 1959. Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton are in charge of arrangements.
