Bertha Competello

The Lord called our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Bertha (Beppie) Winkel Competello home on August 21, 2021.

Born in Amsterdam Holland on June 16, 1932 to father, Geert Roelof Willem Albertus Winkel and mother, Maria Geskes, and sisters, Branca Winkel and Jansje Faure-Winkel, all predeceased. Beppie was widowed following the passing of her beloved husband, Michael S. Competello, born in New York to Italian immigrants, who she rejoins in heaven.

Beppie is survived by her three children, Paul Alexander Harry Competello in Vista, CA, Susan Competello Wentz of Temple, and Patricia Ann Competello of Del Valle. Extended family includes five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Also predeceased was her beloved schnauzer, Buster, who she dearly loved.

A private burial service will be scheduled at a later date to be determined at Bellwood Memorial Park of Temple.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in her name at the Temple Animal Shelter in Texas or Adopt-A-Pet.com

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton.
