Benito Gutierrez Lopez

Benito Gutierrez Lopez, known for his dedication to his work and unwavering love for his family, passed away on March 19, 2024. Born in Prairie Dell, TX on March 21, 1939, his memory will live on in the lives of those who loved him.

Throughout his life, Benito worked diligently in various roles – from his time at Continental working on pumps and fiberglass to his maintenance work at Miller Heights Elementary. His commitment to hard work was evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, Benito's true joy came from being there for his family and cherishing moments with his grandchildren.

Described as a loving and caring man, Benito's devotion to his loved ones knew no bounds. A man of faith, he found strength in God and took pride in nurturing the bond within his family. His happiest moments often involved singing, dancing to Spanish music, or cheering on his grandchildren at their baseball games.

Benito's proudest accomplishments revolved around his family. He leaves behind cherished memories for his surviving sons, Florence Monroe Lopez of Belton and Bobby Ernest Lopez and his wife, Angela of Moody. In addition to them, Benito is survived by his brother, Delfino and sister-in-law Vidalia Lopez, his sisters, Adela Garcia, Catalina and brother-in-law Cuco Vasquez, Connie and brother-in-law Frank Rodriguez, along with a legacy continued by nine grandchildren: Crystal and her husband Andrew Martinez, Bobby, Zachary, Alana, Stefany and her husband Michael Concha, Zane, Daniel and his wife Wendy, Lorenzo, and Lettakaye. His memory will also be carried on by nineteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Benito was preceded in death his beloved wife, Romana Lopez on February 12, 2024 and his parents, Florencio and Angela Lopez . Together with them now in spirit, he will be remembered for the love he shared with those around him and the profound impact he had on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation for Benito will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by a rosary from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Belton Nazarene Church in Belton. His funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10:00AM at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton followed by his burial at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.
