Barbara Beemer

November 20, 1941 — September 5, 2024

Barbara Beemer, 82, a cherished wife, mother and nanny, of Belton passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at her residence.

Barbara was born on November 20, 1941, in Temple, where she blossomed under the loving guidance of her parents, Jamie and Hilda Barton.  For many years, Barbara dedicated herself to her career as an insurance agent at Texian Insurance, where she built many friendships. As a country girl at heart, Barbara's roots were deeply nourished by the values instilled in her as the daughter of a rancher. She embraced the simple beauties of life, finding delight in antiques, sunflowers, and the gentle fluttering of hummingbirds. She had an eye for beauty, often venturing out to estate sales and garage sales, where she relished in the thrill of discovering hidden gems. Restoring old furniture became a treasured hobby, not just a task, but a way for her to breathe new life into pieces, much like the love she poured into her family.

A devoted wife and mother, she shared a beautiful life with her husband, Mike Beemer. Their love story is one of fate and destiny, a serendipitous meeting that would blossom into a lifelong partnership. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with laughter, warmth, and treasured memories.

Barbara was the proud mother of Todd Rutherford of Conroe, Sally Verrando of Dallas, Beverly Smith of Belton, and Hallie Mennen of Temple, and a loving sister to Beverly Reynolds of Alto, NM. Barbara's legacy continues through her nine cherished grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Barbara's family was her pride and joy; she found immense happiness in the life she built around them.

Barbara's family will miss the long heartfelt conversations they shared, her soothing back rubs, and everything that made her the remarkable woman she was. Barbara’s radiant spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many, fostering connections that will endure long after her passing.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life and honor her legacy. Visitation will be held on September 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Don Summers Funeral Home in Temple. Following the visitation, a private family graveside service will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery with Chaplain H.K. Ballard Officiating in Temple.

In lieu of flowers we would request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. There is a direct link at the bottom of her obituary page at www.crottyfh.com.

In these moments of remembrance, we hold Barbara Beemer close to our hearts, grateful for the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the indelible mark she left on us all. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered forever.

Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
