August W. ""Skip"" Rizzo

August William "Skip" Rizzo, 74, of Killeen passed away on Thursday, November 02, 2017 at a local nursing facility. Private family services will be held at a later date. His body was cremated. August Rizzo was born to August and Nellie Rizzo on October 17, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. He entered the United States Army in March of 1961. He served during the Vietnam War and retired in 1981 at Fort Hood, Texas. He owned Rizzo's 66 gas station from 1982 - 1997. Mr. Rizzo was the president of the Fort Hood AOA which he was an umpire and referee for many years. He was also a coach for the Sun Devils football team with his sons. He married the love of his life, Anita J. Rizzo, on June 05, 1964 and she preceded him in death on September 17, 2014. He is survived by two sons, Michael L. Rizzo, of Gatesville and Mark E. Rizzo and wife Rhonda, of Killeen; two daughters, Kelly L. Rizzo of Kingston, TN and Lori Somers and husband John of Killeen; and his sister, Diane Barril and husband Mike of Barnhart, MO; 7 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
