Artemio Garza, 77, of Cedar Park passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, surrounded by his children. Artemio was born on August 3, 1943, to Roberto and Rosa Garza in Port Isabel, Texas. He was a shrimper for over 28 years, loved being at sea, and had many adventures in the Gulf of Mexico. Art then worked in the hospitality industry before his retirement in 2012. His passion was cooking seafood and he always loved seeing his family and friends enjoying his meals. He was one proud father and grandfather. Most importantly Artemio was a very good friend with a heart of gold and he will forever be in our hearts and missed dearly.
A private family viewing has been scheduled and a memorial service at sea will be held at a later date in Port Isabel, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his very good friend, Antonia Garza.
Artemio is survived by his sons, T.J. Garza and wife Dana of Liberty Hill, and Greg Garza and wife Lori of Leander; his daughters, Rachel Chapa and husband Rey of Cedar Park, Rosie Legarreta and husband David of Palm Desert, California, and Paula Ruiz and husband Abel of Cedar Park; his twenty-one grandchildren; and his six great-grandchildren.
